Various Artists Christmas on the Lam and Other Songs from the Season

Gathering warm folk renditions of classic and lesser-known holiday tunes, Christmas on the Lam and Other Songs from the Season is a collection by members of the Red House Records roster. Artists ranging from guitar legend Jorma Kaukonen to Juno winners the Wailin' Jennys are represented, including Dale Watson, John Gorka, and Suzzy Roche, among others. Minneapolis roots trio the Pines offer a reverent version of Gordon Lightfoot's "Song for a Winter's Night," while Bill Kirchen & Austin DeLone show a more playful side with "Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin'" on a set that settles in like a two-handed mug of mulled cider against the cold.
